Single motherhood
The decision to have a baby without being in a relationship is always difficult.
There may be many difficulties and obstacles on the woman’s way. But once having decided to take this move, she gains the opportunity to feel the most powerful emotions, affection and all-consuming love.
Realizing and being fully aware of how difficult it can be in the process of taking a decision and undergoing the program, the team of our clinic provides comprehensive assistance and support for a woman.
In Ukraine, the Single Motherhood program is completely legal. Based on this, we have extensive experience in conducting such programs. Carrying out treatment at our clinic, we help our patients feel calm and confident in their abilities, as well as tune in to a positive result.
In the course of treatment, a woman receives consultation by a reproductive specialist, a doctor's assistant who answers questions in a messenger, a personal program coordinator, and a perinatal psychologist. Overall, this provides the basis for a calm and comfortable stay of the patient at the Nadia Odessa clinic.

Fertility treatment options for single mothers
-
Artificial insemination with donor sperm (AID)
The method, which involves injecting a portion of thawed donor sperm into the uterine cavity using a special catheter. The procedure is completely painless and does not require a long stay at the clinic.
At our clinic, an extensive database of sperm donors is available for patients. A woman can review it in a relaxed atmosphere and order a sperm sample once she has chosen the right candidate.
AID is suitable for women with good ovarian reserve, patent fallopian tubes, as well as for healthy women who have not been diagnosed with infertility or have not tried to conceive before.
The effectiveness of this program is 15-20%. -
IVF with own oocytes and donor sperm
IVF with own oocytes is also successfully performed at our clinic. After examining the woman and choosing a donor sperm sample, we perform stimulation of the patient's ovaries, which takes 8-12 days, and control the growth of follicles by ultrasound scan (3-4 times). As soon as we identify that the follicles have reached the required size, the woman is injected with an ovulation trigger – a drug that triggers the maturation of eggs and their separation from the cumulus of the follicles. After 35-36 hours, a transvaginal puncture of the follicles with the collection of oocytes is performed. The procedure is carried out under intravenous anaesthesia and lasts no more than 20 minutes.
Further goes the embryological stage of the program where the eggs are cleaned and fertilized with the sperm of the selected donor. Afterwards, fertilized oocytes are immersed in a nutrient medium in an incubator where they develop for 5 days.
On the 5th day of development, embryologists assess the quality of the embryos obtained. At the same stage, they take a biomaterial sample for genetic testing of embryos and perform rapid freezing (vitrification) of embryos. In case a woman wants to transfer fresh embryos, they are transferred into the uterine cavity on the 5th day of their development. The procedure is painless and takes 3-5 minutes.
After that, the patient receives a doctor's recommendation and can return home.
The effectiveness of this program reaches 60% and depends on the age of the patient. -
Double donation. IVF using donor eggs and donor sperm
Unfortunately, we cannot always reach pregnancy with the patient's own oocytes. Therefore, in order for a woman to feel the joy of parenthood, it is necessary to go in for double donation.
At the beginning of the program, the woman must select an oocyte and sperm donor. Further, the ovaries of the egg donor are stimulated, the obtained oocytes are fertilized, and the embryos are cultivated up to 5 days, followed by vitrification and the possibility of genetic testing.
The next step is to prepare the patient's endometrium for embryo transfer. The effectiveness of the double donation program is up to 75%. -
Embryo adoption
Embryo adoption is also possible at our clinic.
A woman can adopt embryos left by a couple who have already gotten pregnant and have given birth to a healthy baby. Also, the clinic has embryos obtained from two donors.
In the course of this program, the patient must undergo an examination and select the appropriate embryo. Further, we prepare the endometrium and carry out the transfer of the embryo into the patient's uterine cavity.
Egg donor database – large choice of egg donors for single mothers
We cooperate with the largest oocyte donor bank in the south of Ukraine – OvoPuzzle.
Thanks to this, we have the opportunity to provide our patients with more than 150 profiles to choose from, which contain detailed general and medical information about donors, as well as high-quality photos that will help in taking a decision.
All donors in the database have undergone extensive examination, including tests for the karyotype, carriage of gene mutations for cystic fibrosis, spinal muscular atrophy, and fragile-X chromosome.
At the request of the patient, we have the opportunity to test the donor for more than 200 gene mutations by sending the sample to the USA. Moreover, after the testing, we can arrange a consultation with a geneticist who can estimate the risks for future pregnancy.
Each donor is screened for infections before starting the program: HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, and human T-lymphocytic virus. In order to eliminate the risk of infection transmission, we retest donors on the day of the egg collection.
